My favourite papers to use with Copics are:
1) Ivory Card
This is my go-to paper stock. The bleach white surface ensures the brightest/purest colour as possible from the markers, and it has pretty decent absorption. Also, much much cheaper than the next two papers I’m listing. Sample artwork on this paper
2) Bristol
I interchange between two types of bristol: Smooth and vellum (which has a slight texture effect). It has a creamy surface tone and excellent absorption of black and marker inks. It is also thicker than ivory card, so it’s more durable. Sample artwork on this paper
3) Watercolor Paper (200 gsm, cold press)
This one is a recent discovery; It has the most pronounced texture effect of all three paper types. I’m still getting used to it, but I have to say that this surface is best when I want to emulate the watercolor style with Copics. Sample artwork on this paper
